Siemens Industry Inc. – DBE Goal Notice
In accordance with the regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation, 49 CFR Part 26, Siemens Industry Inc., Rail Systems Division, hereby proposes an overall goal of 5.65 percent for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) participation in contracting opportunities during Fiscal Year 2015 (October 2014 – September 2015). The goal and its rationale are available for public review for 30 days from the date of this notice, at the address listed below. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Furthermore the Department of Transportation and Siemens Industry Inc. will accept comments on this goal for 45 days from the day of this notice.

Siemens actively encourages DBEs and SBEs that design, manufacture and/or service components which are generally accepted in the rail transit manufacturing functions to submit their current certification from a UCP authorized agency. Siemens will also assist those companies which have proven experience and meets Siemens supplier standards in the certification process for both DBE / SBE status.

Siemens Rail Systems Division is seeking qualified DBEs and Small Businesses that are able to supply goods and services in the area of railcar manufacturing. This can include but is not limited to: car body assemblies and components, interior and exterior illumination components, windows, windscreens, seats, interior paneling, luggage racks, handrails, flooring, traction electric components, wheel sets, diesel and cooling systems, cabling, high and low voltage electrical cabinets, fire detectors, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, passenger information system and infotainment, destination signs, HVAC units, door components, brake systems, vehicle control systems, mechanical and electrical connecting parts, and technical services.
We are interested in meeting potential suppliers to develop relationships and increase the probability of successfully obtaining business opportunities together.
